Last updated: 29 September 2026. StarStudent is a free information website for families researching Victorian Year 7 academic scholarships. You can browse and compare opportunities without an account. We do not provide student profiles, accept scholarship applications or store practice results.

Information you provide

If you email hello@starstudent.com.au, we receive your email address and message so we can respond or review a reported listing error. Please do not email student reports, test results, dates of birth or other sensitive student material. We do not intentionally collect sensitive information about children.

Website use and service providers

StarStudent is hosted by WP Engine. Hosting and security services may process technical information such as an IP address, browser details, pages requested and access logs to deliver and protect the website. Cloudflare is used for DNS only. We use service providers to operate the website and email; their infrastructure and processing locations may vary. We do not sell personal information.

The Finder sends searches to StarStudent’s WordPress API. Search terms may appear in URLs you choose to share. Your comparison selections are kept in your browser session. We do not use analytics at launch.

Map tiles load only if you choose the Map view. They are requested directly from OpenStreetMap Foundation, which may receive ordinary connection details such as your IP address and referrer. You can use the results table without loading the map. Map tiles are subject to OpenStreetMap’s attribution and terms.

Use, disclosure and retention

We use information to operate and secure StarStudent, respond to enquiries and correct scholarship listings. Relevant service providers may process information to provide those services. We may also disclose information if required or authorised by law. We retain enquiry messages and operational records only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes or legal obligations, and take reasonable steps to protect them.

For a privacy question, access or correction request, or a complaint about our handling of information, email hello@starstudent.com.au. We will review and respond to your request. We may update this notice if our website or service providers change.
